West End Coffee House in West End. Best Coffee in Brisbane?

Our quest continues with a trip to West End Coffee House on a rainy Monday morning. I've been eying off this venue as it seems to have a constant line of West Enders outside waiting for their daily brew.

The atmosphere inside is quite chic, with a retro styling and even a deck set up which, it seems, customers feel comfortable changing the record on so they can listen to their favourite tunes. A little bit of road noise entered due to the Vulture St locations. Service is friendly and I watched as the staff (maybe the owner) worked hard to meet the requirements of various customers.

Anyway, on to the coffee. I requested a flat white and was delivered a cup that contained a good looking brew. The beans used here are campos (Costa Rican and El Salvadorian beans). Coffee had a light body, aftertaste was mild. Very easy to drink. Whilst the standard of coffee here is very high, it fell slightly below the wonderful cup poured around the corner at Blackstar. I think it's hard to match a self-roasting outfit such as Blackstar. Overall though, the comfortable atmosphere and slightly larger size of the coffee will have me coming back here. I also need to try the food menu which was not extensive but the eggs are the cheapest I've seen in Brisbane so far. Next time for that.
